CMSA 2023 Convention

We all look forward to the popular lunch-time open mic sessions where single or groups of performers can show off the latest pieces they have been learning. We will have Open Mic sessions on Thursday (for solos and duets) and on Saturday (for ensembles).

Be sure to register for the convention before you request an Open Mic slot. At least one member of each group must be registered for the convention.

Times are available for the Thursday and Saturday sessions. We are trying to schedule solo and duet numbers on Thursday and larger groups on Saturday, but we will try to accommodate special requests or scheduling conflicts. A tentative printed program will be sent out a few days before the convention, but if time allows we will accept requests at the registration desk.

Time limits are approximately 5 minutes for solos or duets (Thursday) and 10 minutes for ensembles (Saturday). We know that some great selections do not fit rigid time frames, but we want to include as many players as we can. We also have to allow for players exiting and entering the stage, as well as possible reset of chairs or mics. With this in mind, please time your selections carefully and stay as close as you can to these time allotments.
