Passing of Joyce Adams

It is with heavy hearts that the members of the Baltimore Mandolin Orchestra announce the passing of one of its most influential and longest-serving members, Joyce Adams. Joyce was the right hand of BMO founder and director Conrad Gebelein when he resurrected the orchestra in 1976. For decades, she served as concert mistress. An acclaimed mandolin instructor, Joyce taught several generations of BMO mandolinists. During CMSA’s early years, Joyce played a key role in helping to prepare and disseminate music for the CMSA En Masse Orchestra. Further tributes will be forthcoming.
