The CMSA Board of Directors met virtually Sunday, January 18, 2026 from 2pm-3:40pm Central Standard Time.

The Board had three non-procedural motions to vote upon. All passed unanimously.

Treasurer Position:

With there being only one candidate on the slate for the election of CMSA Treasurer, the Board voted unanimously by acclamation to elect Jonathan Bredin to the 2026-2028 term of CMSA Treasurer.  The Nominations Committee is soliciting nominations through February 9th to replace Jonathan Bredin for the remainder of his position as Secretary

Honorary Board of Directors:

The Honors and Awards Committee recommended to renew Werner Ruecker and Alex Timmerman to second terms to the Honorary Board of Directors. The Board voted unanimously to extend to each a second term on the Honorary Board of Directors at the 2026 CMSA convention.

Presidential Fellow:

The Honors and Awards Committee nominated Sue Lesser as a candidate for CMSA Presidential Fellow. The Board unanimously voted to award Sue Lesser with the CMSA Presidential Fellowship at the 2026 CMSA convention and to update the listing of past presidents in all upcoming issues of The Mandolin Journal to include Sue Lesser.
