2020-2022 Election Results

18 December 2019

Your CMSA Nominating Committee, Joane Rylander, Tarisa Tognetti, and Sue Lesser, developed a slate of  candidates for two open positions to serve three-year terms on the CMSA Board of Directors. The committee sought nominees through convention announcements, our website, and the Mandolin Journal. This year, the number of candidates nominated for each position exactly equals the number of positions we had open. In accordance with our bylaws, the Board voted to approve the slate of candidates by Acclamation.

We would also like to say Thank-You to outgoing member Dave Cohen for his many years of service on the board.  Dave brought us a unique ‘dual’ perspective, as both a player, and builder, of mandolins!

We will be looking for candidates for the 2021-2023 terms for Officers and at large Board Members—please consider volunteering!

Your new at large Board Members for 2020-2022 are

Sarah Curtis was a leader of the host committee for the 2019 convention in Normal, IL. As a recent local host, Sarah would share her knowledge and perspective on the CMSA board. Sarah is a community leader on the board of Westminster Village, a continuing care retirement community. She served for years with Central Illinois Youth Symphony and Children’s Discovery Museum. Sarah has worked in financial services since 1985; as a Financial Consultant at Wells Fargo Advisors, she feels privileged to work with clients to help them achieve their financial goals. The highlight of Sarah’s week is Tuesday night rehearsals, playing Mandolin 2 with her fellow ‘Orpheans’ in the Orpheus Mandolin Orchestra.

Nancy King  lives in Decatur, Georgia, where she plays 2d mandolin with the Atlanta Mandolin Orchestra. When she’s not playing mandolin, she enjoys cycling, tennis, playing with her two dogs, and fishing in the North Georgia mountains. In her spare time, she practices California law, working in a specialty that only requires a good Internet connection. She has been a member of CMSA since 2003.
